Chemical composition and biological properties

The drug contains lactulose (at least 50%) as an active ingredient, balanced appropriate sugar set (lactose and galactose) and purified water.
Vetelact performs several important functions in organism such as promotion of beneficial bifido- and lactobacteria growth and inhibition of pathogenic microflora growth (including anaerobic bacteria and Escherichia coli). Besides, this feed supplement provides hyperosmotic laxative action, stimulates vermicular movement and acts as energy metabolites for intestinal epithelial cells. Vetelact improves absorption of phosphates and Са2+ salts and provides ammonium ions excretion. Colonic microflora deconjugates lactulose to small-molecule organic acids. Drug addition to a ration increases level of bifido- and lactobacteria, provides digestive process improvement and affected mucosal recovery, enhancement of nutrient availability and reduction of animal morbidity, especially in growers.

Administration

Oral use with feeding, milk or cool boiled water by individual or group method.
Dogs and cats: 0.1 ml per 1 kg of body weight, every day within 30 days. Duplicate this dose, if appropriate.

Adverse events

Vetelact overdose may cause laxative effect. It disappears without medical interference. In this case stop Vetelact administration for 2-3 days.

Special warnings

The drug is compatible with all feeding ingredients, other feed supplements and veterinary drugs.

Storage

Store in closed original package at 0-25°С. Protect from light and moisture. Shelf life is 3 years from manufacturing date.
