Chemical composition and pharmacological properties
Iris eye drops (ophthalmological antibacterial drug) contain 0.4 g of gentamicin sulfate as an active ingredient.Gentamicin sulfate pvovides significant antibacterial effect to most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. After instillation in conjunctival cavity Iris eye drops absorb on conjunctival mucosa, easy penetrate in intraocular structures through сornea providing stable drug concentration inside an eye and having antibacterial effect on affections of conjunctiva, cornea and deep endoocular structures.
Indications
Acute and chronic conjunctivitis, keratitis, keratoconjunctivitis, corneal ulcers and erosions, meibomitis, blepharitis, iridocyclitis (uveitis).Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the drug components. The drug has no effect on anaerobic bacteria, fungi, viruses and protozoans.Dosage and administration
Treatment: instill the drug in conjunctival cavity for 4 times a day within 7-10 days in succession. Doses are listed below:• dogs (<10 kg) - 1 drop,
• dogs (>10 kg) - 2 drops,
• cats (any weight) - 1 drop.
Prevention of complications in eye contact with foreign matters and other irritating agents: instill by 1 drop of the drug in conjunctival cavity for 4 times a day within 3 days.
