Chemical composition and pharmacological properties
2-benzyl-4-chlorophenol, which is part of SMOK® antisept, has a wide spectrum of disinfecting action against:
- gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella enteritidis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa;
- mold and yeast-like fungi, including Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus fumigatus, Penicillium spp., Alternaria spp., Cladosporium spp., Candida alblcans ;
- viruses, including avian influenza viruses.
SMOK® antisept is a low-temperature product in which exothermic decomposition of reagents is used to form environmentally friendly nitrogen and carbon dioxide, which serve as carriers for 2-benzyl-4-chlorophenol. During the operation of the product, the active substance is sublimated in the form of an aerosol. During the exposure, aerosol condensation occurs and the entire surface of the treated object is completely covered with the active substance. In the smoke generator, the temperature rise is much less than in pyrotechnic products, since there is no gorenje process. The product does not cause corrosion of metal products and structures.
Indications
SMOK® antisept is used for antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral disinfection of livestock and poultry premises, warehouses and storages, vehicles, equipment for animal care, storage tanks, distribution and transportation of feed, cages and equipment, incubators and hatching cabinets, feed stalls, slaughterhouses and other veterinary surveillance facilities.

When processing, the estimated number of smoke generators should be placed on the refractory surface, open the lid and light the fuse. The person should leave the premises as soon as possible. Depending on the packaging, one smoke generator is designed for 25, 50, 100 or 200 m3 of room volume. The exposure varies depending on the surface profile (smooth and rough) from 4 to 12 hours. If necessary, repeated treatment is carried out after 2-3 days.
To enhance the disinfecting effect, it is advisable to combine SMOK® antisept with liquid disinfectants for room treatment.
