Chemical composition and pharmacological properties
Eymetherm 2.5 % solution is a triazinetrione anticoccidial drug.1 ml contains 25 mg of toltrazuril as an active ingredient.
Toltrazuril blocks respiratory enzymes, provides damaging effect on coccidial mitochondria and nuclear fission violating macrogametocyte formation and causing death of parasites.
Indications
Used to prevent and treat coccidiosis in broiler chickens, henny replacements, turkeys, geese and ducks; in appearance of clinical signs of the disease.Contraindications
Do not use in laying hens (due to accumulation in eggs).Dosage and administration
Administered with drinking water for 2 days in succession in dose of 7 mg of toltrazuril per 1 kg of body weight (28 ml of the drug per 100 kg of body weight) which is equivalent to:1 ml of the drug per 1 l of drinking water reared within 48 hours in succession or 3 ml of the drug per 1 l of drinking water reared within 8 hours in a day for 2 days in succession.
In severe cases retreatment must be performed in 5 days. Only water with the drug is allowed to be consumed during administration period.
Medical solution remains effective within 48 hours. In case of residue appearance, accurately mix the solution before use.
Adverse events
Adverse events are not observed in case of administration as per package insert. Overdose: potential dysorexia, decrease in water consumption and weight loss.Special warnings
Broiler chickens are allowed to be slaughtered for meat not earlier than 14 days after the last drug administration. This period is 16 days in turkeys, geese and ducks. Meat of compulsorily slaughtered poultry received before stated period termination can be used to feed fur animals.Eymetherm 2.5 % solution is compatible with vitamins, feed supplements and drugs used in poultry industry.
