Chemical composition and pharmacological properties
1 ml contains doxycycline hyclate - 100 mg and bromhexine hydrochloride - 5 mg (as active ingredients), as well as lactulose - 100 mg as an excipient. Doxycycline hyclate (a tetracycline antibiotic) is active against Bordetella spp., Campylobacter spp., Escherichia coli, Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Clostridium perfringens, Chlamydia spp., Rickettsiae spp., as well as Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae. Bromhexine (a mucolytic agent) has secretolytic, expectorant and antitussic properties. Lactulose is a synthetic prebiotic.
Indications
Use in pigs and poultry with bacterial respiratory and gastrointestinal infections (including salmonellosis, dysentery, enzootic pneumonia, pasteurellosis, mycoplasmosis, colibacillosis), as well as others, agents of which are susceptible to doxycycline.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the drug components. It is not allowed to use in laying hens and animals with frank renal/hepatic impairment. Do not use in combination with muscle relaxants, cough center inhibitors, penicillin and cephalosporin antibiotics, mineral supplements and drugs containing salts of calcium, magnesium, iron and aluminium. Doxycycline may increase skin photosensitivity.
Administration
Oral administration with drinking water (daily dose - 0.5 ml per 1 l of potable water) within 3-5 days.
Adverse events
In case of allergic reactions, stop drug administration. Use antihistaminic and symptomatic drugs.
Waiting period
Pigs and poultry are allowed to be slaughtered for meat not earlier than 8 and 7 days, respectively, after the last drug administration.
Storage
Store in closed original package. Protect from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children and animals. Store separately from food and animal feeding at 5-25°С.
