Chemical composition and pharmacological properties
1 g of Fascocid granules contains oxyclozanide - 0.1 g (as an active ingredient), as well as excipients.1 tablet contains oxyclozanide - 0.5 g (as an active ingredient), as well as excipients.
Mechanism of oxyclozanide action (a component of the drug) includes phosphorylation damage, decreased activity of fumarate reductase and succinate dehydrogenase in worms causing paralysis and death of trematodes.
After oral administration oxyclozanide well absorbs in gastrointestinal tract with further penetration in organs and tissues. It is excreted unchanged and as metabolites, mainly, in feces and urine. Also this active ingredient is partially excreted in milk of lactating animals.
Indications
Use Fascocid to deworm cattle, sheep and goats with acute and chronic fasciolasis, dicroceliasis or paramphistomidosis.Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the drug components.Dosage and administration
Fascocid tablets are intended for treatment and prevention; individual administration in a single dose:• fasciolasis and dicroceliasis - 1 tablet per 50 kg of body weight (10 mg of oxyclozanide per 1 kg of body weight);
• paramphistomidosis - 1 tablet per 40 kg of body weight (12.5 mg of oxyclozanide per 1 kg of body weight).
Fascocid granules are intended for treatment and prevention; administration with feed in a single dose: cattle - individual use, small ruminants - individual or group method. Dosage is listed below:
• fasciolasis and dicroceliasis - 1 g of granules per 10 kg of body weight (10 mg of oxyclozanide per 1 kg of body weight);
• paramphistomidosis - 1.25 g of granules per 10 kg of body weight (12.5 mg of oxyclozanide per 1 kg of body weight).
