Chemical composition and pharmacological properties
The drug contains ciprofloxacin - 100 mg/ml (as an active ingredient) and lactulose (as an excipient).
Ciprofloxacin (fluroquinolone antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial action) is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (including Echerichia coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp., Proteus spp., Yersinia spp., Haemophilus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pasteurella multocida, Plesiomonas shigelloides, Campylobacter jejuni, Brucella spp., Chlamydia trachomatis, Listeria monocytogenes, Mycobacterium spp., Corynebacterium diphtheriase, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus spp.).
Lactulose (prebiotic) is a synthetic polysaccharide.
Indications
Use in broiler chickens, breeding poultry, henny replacements under 16 weeks old, ducks, geese, turkeys and ornamental birds with colibacillosis, salmonellosis, chronic respiratory diseases, streptococcosis, necrotic enteritis, Glasser's disease, mycoplasmosis, combined infections and secondary ones associated with viral diseases, agents of which are susceptible to ciprofloxacin.
Contraindications
Do not use in laying hens and chicken replacements less than 2 weeks before egg-laying starts. It is not allowed to use in combination with levomycetin, macrolides, tetracyclines, theophyllin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, as well as with magnesium and calcium supplements.
Administration
Administer by rearing with water. Daily dose is 0.5 ml per 1 l of potable water within 3-5 days; salmonellosis, combined infections and chronic diseases - 1 ml per 1 l of potable water for at least 5 days.
Adverse events
Adverse events are not observed in case of administration as per package insert. In case of increased individual sensitivity to fluroquinolones, feed refusal and motor dysfunction may be observed. In this instance stop drug administration.
Waiting period
Poultry are allowed to be slaughtered for meat not earlier than 12 days after the last drug administration.
Storage
Store in original package at 5-25°С. Protect from sunlight. Keep out of the reach of children and animals.
