Chemical composition and pharmacological properties

1 ml of Shustrik suspension contains fenbendazole - 2.5 mg and praziquantel - 1.5 mg (as active ingredients), as well as excipients.
Shustrik suspension has nematodocidic and cestodocidic effect on worms parasitizing rodents (including Syphacia obvelata, Aspiculuris tetraptera, Nippostrongylus muris, Nippostrongylus braziliensis, Heterakis spumosa, Trichocephalus muris, Trichocephalus sylvilagi, Trichostrongylus retortaeformis, Paraspidodera uncinata, Strongyloides spp., Passalurus ambiguus, Hymenolepis diminuta, Hymenolepis nana).
The mechanism of fenbendazole action (a component of the drug) involves destruction of microtubules in worms intestinal cells and disorder of energy processes causing death of parasites.
Mechanism of praziquantel action is based on neuromuscular ganglionic blocker depolarization, disorder of glucose transport and microtubule function in cestodes, muscular innervation disorder resulting in paralysis and death of a worm.

Indications

Use Shustrik suspension for rodents, ornamental and laboratory rabbits.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the drug active ingredients.

Dosage and administration

Carefully shake suspension before use.
Drug is intended for individual or group oral administration in a single dose (1 ml/kg of body weight) as follows (for one animal with listed body weight):
• a rabbit (3 kg) - 3.0 ml;
• a mouse (18-20 g) - 0.02 ml;
• a rat (180-200 g) - 0.2 ml;
• a guinea pig (150-200 g) - 0.2 ml.
Treatment: according to indications. Prevention: quaterly, in therapeutic dose.
Group method: administered with potable water for animal group, dilute a dose of Shustrik suspension with water (1:10) and rear within 1 day by drinkers (50-100 ml) with a glance to animal water consumption rate (0.1 ml per 10 g of body weight).
Administration with feed: add a dose of Shustrik suspension to feed (1 ml per 50 g) for animal group, mix carefully (predry dry feed) and feed within1 day.
During deworming give to animals only water/feed with the drug.

Adverse events

Adverse events and complications are not observed in case of administration as per package insert.

Storage

Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children and animals. Store separately from food and animal feeding at 0-25°С.
