Chemical composition and pharmacological properties
1 ml contains 100 mg of florfenicol as an active ingredient. Florfenicol is an antibiotic (thiamphenicol-based compound) providing bacteriostatic action against Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Pasteurella multocida, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Ornitobacterium rhinotracheale, Haemophilus spp., Proteus spp., Enterobacter spp., Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp., Bordetella spp. and Mycoplasma spp.
Indications
Use in pigs with pleuropneumonia, atrophic rhinitis; in poultry with colibacillosis, pasteurellosis, bacterial respiratory infections and others caused by microorganisms susceptible to florfenicol.
Contraindications
Do not use in laying hens and henny replacements (less than 14 days before egg-laying starts) due to florfenicol accumulation in eggs or in case of individual increased sensitivity to the drug components. It is not allowed to use in combination with thiamphenicol and chloramphenicol, penicillin antibiotics, cephalosporins and fluroquinolones.
Administration
Pigs: individual or group administration within 7 days. Daily dose is 5 ml per 100 kg of body weight. Chickens under 4 weeks old - 100 ml per 100 l of water; poultry of other ages - 200 ml per 100 l of water within 3 or 5 days (salmonellosis and combined infections).
Adverse events
Pigs: discolouration of feces, diarrhea, redness and swelling of perianal area. These symptoms naturally disappear after the end of drug administration. In case of allergic reactions, stop drug administration and use antihistaminic and symptomatic drugs.
Waiting period
Pigs and poultry are allowed to be slaughtered for meat not earlier than 6 and 2 days, respectively, after the last drug administration.
Storage
Store in closed original package. Protect from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children and animals. Store separately from food and animal feeding at 5-20°С.
