Chemical composition and pharmacological properties
1 ml of FITODOC® Carnitine contains L-carnitine - 45.0–55.0 mg, betaine hydrochloride - 54.0–66.0 mg, DL-methionine - 13.5–16.5 mg, inositol - 9.0–11.0 mg as active ingredients, as well as excipients: glycerol - 340–420 mg, nipazole - 4.5–5.5 mg and purified water up to 1 ml.
Appearance: colorless to yellow liquid (opalescence is possible). It is very soluble in water and easily mixed with feed.
The biological properties of the FITODOC® Carnitine feed additive are due to its components:
L-carnitine is a vitamin-like substance that is an important component of the energy metabolism in animals and birds. It plays a role in the transport of long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria, it allows the body to use additional energy sources and increase energy production, regulates metabolism of fatty acids by removing their excess amount that cause cell destruction, from the mitochondria. By eliminating an excess of lipids that have immunosuppressive properties, L-carnitine indirectly stimulates immune cells, increases the secretion and enzymatic activity of digestive juices (gastric and intestinal), improves the absorption of nutrients and feed, including protein. Through its effect on lipid metabolism, L-carnitine restores the alkaline reserve of blood, reduces the rate of production of ketoacids, increases the resistance of tissues to toxic degradation products, activates aerobic processes and inhibits anaerobic glycolysis, and has an antihypoxic effect.
Betaine hydrochloride activates lipid metabolism in liver, normalizes the level of triglycerides in the blood, enables replenishment of methyl groups, has a favorable effect on growth and development of young animals, thereby increasing productivity of farm animals and poultry.
DL-methionine is an essential amino acid; it has a hepatoprotective effect; activates the action of hormones, vitamins and enzymes; reduces blood cholesterol level and increases the level of phospholipids; participates in the work of immune and endocrine systems.
Inositol participates in the metabolism of protein and lipids, promotes the formation of lactic and pyruvic acids, thereby enabling normal metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids; increases neuromuscular excitability, participates in the regulation of heart rhythm, intestinal and stomach peristalsis, and has a beneficial effect on brain activity.
Indications
FITODOC® Carnitine is a feed additive for normalizing metabolism, increasing the productivity and safety of farm animals and poultry, as well as for improving the functional state of the liver, normalizing metabolic processes and increasing the stress resistance of dogs and cats.Contraindications
Contraindications to the use have not been established.Dosage and administration
FITODOC® Carnitine is administered orally in farm animals and poultry with water for drinking individually or in groups. In dogs and cats, it is administered with water for drinking or mixed with feed.
