Chemical composition and pharmacological properties
DIRONET® junior as active ingredients contains: pyrantel pamoate - 15 mg/ml and sodium ribonucleate - 0.5 mg / ml, as well as auxiliary substances: sucrose, twin-80, an additive with the taste and aroma of meat, nipagin, nipazole and purified water.Pyrantel pamoate, a compound of the pyrimidine group, is active against sexually mature and immature nematodes, its mechanism of action is based on blocking the transmission of nerve impulses in neuromuscular synapses by depolarization of muscle cell membranes, which causes paralysis of the muscular system of nematodes. Pyrantel pamoate is practically not absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, which ensures its prolonged effect on helminths in the intestine; it is excreted from the body mainly unchanged (93%) with faeces within 24-48 hours.
Sodium ribonucleate accelerates the regeneration of intestinal cells injured by nematodes of an animal, stimulates the immune processes of the body, activating immunocompetent cells (T- and B-lymphocytes).
